Meet Our Team

We know that our office is only as effective and as welcoming as the people who work in it, which is why we take pride in our friendly and well-trained team members! As a team, we are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment in a supportive and nurturing environment. We promise to speak candidly with you about possible treatments as well as any risks and associated costs of treatment, and how treatment can address your individual needs as a patient.

To experience the difference that only a well-trained, professional and courteous team can deliver, schedule your appointment with our office today!

Meet Stacy.

Stacy.jpgStacy has been with the practice since 2000. She loves being around people, which makes her the perfect patient coordinator and administrative assistant! Her daily tasks include scheduling appointments, managing insurance claims, processing payments and so much more.

The most interesting place Stacy has ever visited was Sturgis, South Dakota during the Annual Motorcycle Rally with her husband and friends; she recently went back with her two sons, when the event was not in session, and was intrigued by how different the town was.

In her spare time, she likes spending time on her family's river boat and enjoying chimichangas (with a marg on the side, of course). Her hero is her mother (aww!) and her idea of pure joy is having health, happiness, and wealth for ALL of her loved ones.

Stacy's favorite part about working at Iowa City Dental Health is interacting with the practice's wide range of patients. When asked what her most overused phrase was, she said, "Good Morning, Dr. Yowell's office, this is Stacy" (we just love her sense of humor).

Meet Tracey.

Tracey Final B&W

Tracey joined us in 2017, but it truly feels like she’s been “part of the family” since…...“forever:)”  Tracey is passionate about hygiene, always having had a love of healthcare and educating patients (has it in her blood – as her mom has been a dental assistant for over 20 years!)  Her favorite part about being a hygienist?  “Hands down, the relationships I build with the patients.”

Tracey's guilty pleasure is sweets... "anything sugary and bad for you." Good thing her go to toothbrush is an Oral B electric one! What quality she most admires in people? Kindness, because your one kind gesture could be the highlight of someone's day (so true!).

Outside of work, Tracey’s very busy with family, married with a baby (OMY GOSH!! She’s adorable!!), 2 Pembroke Welsh Corgi’s, Lily and Frank (OK, what’s not to love about them???) and a cat to boot!…. Yes, quite a full house.  To top that busy schedule, Tracey’s a self proclaimed DIY expert, noting that people don’t believe me when I say “I made that.”

We're so excited to have Tracey join our team!

Meet Heather.

Heather.jpgHeather has been with the practice for more than 20 years! She helps Dr. Yowell chair-side as a dental assistant, orders all of the office's supplies and serves as backup for Stacy at the front desk.

Her hobbies include hanging out with family and being her kids' biggest fan during their extra curricular activities. She says she overuses the phrase, "I love you" intentionally, so her kids will always remember she told them it often (bringing tears to our eyes over here, Heather!).

Quick fun facts: the best trip Heather ever experienced was one to Washington D.C. where she enjoyed learning about our country's history; her toothbrush is purple (her favorite color); and if she was an ice cream flavor, she'd be something salty and sweet, because that description just sums her up.

Heather's favorite part about working in Iowa City is the diversity. "I am fortunate to work in a practice that sees patients from all walks of life… from factory workers, to doctors, professors, students, and farmers, we see them all!"

Meet Mary.

Mary.jpgMary has been with Iowa City Dental Health since 2002 and has over 20 years of experience as a dental hygienist. In addition to cleaning teeth, Mary has a passion for educating patients on proper oral hygiene.

When she's not in the office, you can find her spending time with family, enjoying life as a grandmother, volunteering at her church, and reading. Her guilty pleasure is Oreo cookies with milk... serious yum.

Mary's favorite trip was one to the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation in the Southwest United States with her church's youth group. She was so inspired by the trip that one of her bucket list items, along with traveling to London and becoming a hospice volunteer, is to visit other Indian reservations to help provide dental hygiene services.

Mary enjoys working in Iowa City because of the "melting pot" of people we have here, and a quality she admires most in people is trustworthiness.

Meet Brittany.

Brittany.jpgBrittany joined the Iowa City Dental Health practice in May 2016 as a dental assistant! She has 3 years of experience working in the dental field, is really great interacting with kids, pays close attention to detail, and is incredibly helpful around the office!

When she's not helping us make your smile picture perfect, you can find Brittany dancing to "Don't Let Me Down" by The Chainsmokers or "Ants Marching" by Dave Matthews Band. If she were an ice cream flavor, Brittany would be Ben & Jerry's Tonight Dough, because it's her favorite and she doesn't think she'll ever get sick of it (we think Jimmy Fallon would agree!).

Brittany loves soccer and her lifelong dream is play on the U.S. women's national team, but luckily, she's happy right where she's at. Her idea of perfect happiness is, "the life that I'm living right now. I wouldn't change a thing!" And that's why we're so happy to have her here!
